Israeli forces kill four Palestinians, including 8-year-old, in West Bank
On Wednesday, Israeli forces killed four Palestinians in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin. Among the victims were an innocent 8-year-old boy and a 15-year-old youth, alongside two senior militant commanders, according to reports from the Palestinian official news agency, WAFA.
“The two children, Adam Samer Al-Ghoul (8 years old) and Basil Suleiman Abu Al-Wafa (15 years old) were shot dead by occupation forces in the city of Jenin,” the Palestinian health ministry said.
Hamas claimed Al-Wafa as a member. There is unverified video footage circulating on social media that appears to show the 8-year-old being hit, but the video does not identify who fired the shot.
The Israeli military has responded to the video footage of the incident, stating that during an IDF operation in the Jenin Camp, suspects had thrown explosive devices towards IDF soldiers.
In response, the soldiers used live fire against the suspects, with hits being confirmed. The Jenin camp, known for its high level of militant activity, bore the brunt of a major Israeli operation in July, resulting in extensive damage to buildings and piles of rubble.
According to WAFA, Palestinian individuals Muhammad Jamal Zubaidi and Wissam Ziad Hanoun, both from the Jenin camp, lost their lives during this operation, with their bodies reportedly taken by the occupation forces.
The Israeli army released a statement explaining that Zubeidi, one of the deceased, was a senior Islamic Jihad operative and a key figure in the Jenin Camp.
