Banquet halls, shops, and eateries in protected forest land in the Aravalis of Faridabad have been restored and new boundary walls are being constructed. Perimeter fences are being built on plots along the Surajkund-Badkhal road. Despite being protected, illegal construction has continued on this land. A survey found 6,793 illegal structures in Faridabad, mainly in Anangpur. The government has delayed demolitions, claiming it needs to hear individual cases. Activists accuse the government of allowing encroachments in protected forest areas.
