Especially if you can’t afford to splash the cash on a dehumidifier, or have tried the baking soda and salt hacks, you’ll need to pay attention.

Sharing the advice on social media, an account named Root Growings revealed the plants that you must check out – including the ‘humidity hero’ that’s great for damp.

The gardening guru explained: “Three houseplants to absorb moisture in [your] bathroom.

“Discover the magic of Boston Fern, English Ivy, and Peace Lily as we explore how these houseplants turn your bathroom into a lush sanctuary, reducing moisture, and adding a touch of greenery!”

The plant expert revealed the first plant, which is suitable for those with pets, as he said: “First up, we have the Boston fern. This luscious, feathery fern is not only a visual treat, but also a humidity hero.

“Placing a Boston fern in your bathroom can significantly reduce moisture levels, creating a more comfortable environment.”

The next plant isn’t one for those with pets, but is great for combating humidity, as the pro continued: “Next on our moisture busting list is English Ivy.

“Known for its trailing vines and elegant leaves, English Ivy is an excellent choice for bathrooms.

“It’s not just about aesthetics. This plant actively absorbs moisture, helping to combat humidity and in turn reducing the risk of mould growth.”

The final plant also isn’t suitable for those with pets, but will be sure to reduce the moisture in your bathroom.

The expert concluded: “Last but certainly not least, we have the peace Lily.

“Having this elegant plant in your bathroom can contribute to a healthier and more enjoyable space.

“These three houseplants not only enhance your bathroom decor, but also work tirelessly to reduce moisture, humidity and the potential for mould.”

“Beyond its beautiful white blooms, the peace Lily is a powerhouse when it comes to improving air quality and reducing moisture.”

The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @rootgrowings, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly amassed a staggering 724,600 views in just 14 hours.

Social media users were thankful for the advice and were keen to express this in the comments.

One person said: “This is very important information.”

Another added: “Thank you! I’ve been struggling so much with mould.”

A third commented: “Might put one in my bedroom, might stop the mould on the ceiling.”
