After the Buzzer – Vipers Drop 4-1 Decision to Warriors
Vernon, BC: Shea Busch scored the only goal and Ethan David had 29 saves, but tonight the Vipers couldn’t rally from a first period deficit as they fell to West Kelowna by a 4-1 score.
The Warriors struck twice in the first period with goals from Jackson Kyrkostas and Johannes Lokkeberg.
Second periods have been an issue for the Vipers, for the 3rd straight game they were heavily outshot. Lokkeberg scored his second of the night as the lone goal of the period.
Shea Busch tallied a powerplay marker to get the game within two goals, but a failed powerplay minutes later failed to capitalize on the momentum. Jack Farrell scored minutes after the expired penalty to salt away the game.
Ethan David finished with 29 saves.
Rorke Applebee was strong for West Kelowna with 26 saves on 27 shots.
The Vipers powerplay was 1 for 2 and 2 for 2 on the penalty kill.
Vernon is back in action Saturday night when they host the Prince George Spruce Kings for Teddy Bear Toss Night at 6pm.
