BBC weather presenter threatens to call police after string of ‘unwanted messages’ from viewers
ONE of the BBC’s senior weather presenters has admitted to receiving a string of “unwanted messages” online that have left her contemplating phoning the police.
Alexis Green, who works as a broadcaster with the Beeb, took to X – formerly Twitter – to share her anguish at the flow of messages directed towards her.

Alexis also appeared to suggest that some may have been of a “threatening” nature as she insisted that if she were to receive any such as that, she would block the account and take it to the police.
Writing a post online, Alexis penned: “I’ve had a number of unwanted messages recently on this platform.
“If any messages are threatening I will block the profile involved and send the information to the police.”
She then added: “My job is to talk about the weather and occasionally you’ll get the odd dog pic. Thanks.”
This is not the first time that Alexis has been forced to deal with unwanted attention online and was involved in a court case earlier this year.
The BBC South lead weather presenter received a string of sexual messages and photos which she admitted had an impact on her life and told BBC Breakfast in an interview that it left her dreading coming to work.
It originally began when a man she did not know contacted her via a personal Facebook account.
Recounting the start of the harassment, which began in November 2022, she told the BBC: “I had a few messages from this guy and they were inappropriate, saying something like, ‘You are warming up my house tonight’.”
Having blocked him once, he made a new account a month later where he would message her up to three times a day where he would often send explicit videos and describe his sexual desires to her.
Alexis said in an interview with Sally Nugent: “My legs were shaking, my hands were shaking, I was trying to hold it together on air.”
“Obviously you’ve got a job to do, you have to present something to the public.
“I felt I had a job to do but I also felt very anxious and scared at the same time.”
In March of this year, a 55 year old man was sentenced to 17 weeks imprisonment and given a restraining order following his actions.
Reflecting on the court case, she said: “Obviously the court case was horrendous for me… I sat there in the dock shaking.
“It was really, really hard but at the end of it I had a result.”
The harassment has left a long-lasting impact on Alexis as she admitted it affected the course of her life.
Alexis added to the BBC: “It has made me afraid, I am scared to do certain things – I won’t go for a run on my own anymore, I take the dog.”
“I feel that there is that protection in place but it is not going to help me, it is not going to help my personal feelings, my anxiety, I’ll always have that with me.”
