Haley in first ad calls for new president with 'moral clarity'

Former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley’s presidential campaign rolled out its first ad of the GOP primary cycle on Thursday, as she gains momentum in the polls and among donors. 

The 30-second ad titled “Moral Clarity” is set to air in the early contest states of Iowa and New Hampshire and is a part of a $10 million ad buy in the two states. 

Haley appears on camera in the ad, calling for “a new generation of conservative leadership.”

“We have to leave behind the chaos and drama of the past and strengthen our country, our pride, and our purpose,” Haley says in the spot. 

The ad, which will air on broadcast, cable, and digital platforms starting Friday, was first reported by Politico.

The news comes as Haley’s campaign has surged less than two months out from the Iowa Caucuses. Haley has jumped to second place behind former President Trump in New Hampshire and is tied with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) for second place in Iowa. 

Haley also has won the backing of major donors and conservative figures. On Tuesday, the Koch-aligned and deep-pocketed Americans for Prosperity backed the former South Carolina governor. Meanwhile, on Wednesday, JP Morgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon called on Democrats to help Haley in her nomination race against Trump. 

However, Haley’s opponents have hit back against the praise Haley has received this week. On Thursday, Trump responded to Dimon’s praise of Haley, calling him a “highly overrated globalist,” while DeSantis’ campaign has accused AFP of “lining up behind a moderate.”
