Celebrity shoe designer Sophia Webster shares her blister-beating high heel tricks – her best advice is totally free

WHEN you’re all dolled up for a holiday party, the last thing you want is a blister on your foot as red as Rudolph’s nose.

Thankfully, celebrity footwear designer Sophia Webster has revealed her top tips for preventing those angry sores, and her best advice is completely free.

The designer — who is a fave of stars like Taylor Swift (pictured in 2019)— urged women to give their shoes a test run at home first[/caption]

Webster’s flirty heels have been worn by everyone including Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez, Blake Lively, Kendall Jenner, Katy Perry, and Mariah Carey.

And she said that when it comes to comfort, first and foremost, you need to get the right size.

That can mean something different depending on the style of the shoe.

“Pointy-toe shoes I would always go half a size up, just because of the proportions of them,” she told The U.S. Sun.

Once they’re home and out of the box, don’t wait for your office Christmas party — or wedding, or night out on the town — to give them a spin.

“I think it’s always good to have a little practice at home walking around in your shoes,” she said.

“Have a little walk around your living room in them,” she added.

That can give you some time to work them in, but it’ll also help you identify any pressure points before you’re stuck at a bar with no Band-Aids.

If you realize your shoes are a bit narrow, Webster has a few tricks up her sleeve.

“I’ve got quite wide feet, so I’m always taking my shoes to the cobblers and they have machines that can warm them up, stretch them out,” she said.

“You can also get sprays as well that help manipulate and soften the leather.”

But if you don’t want to spend the money — or if your shoes need some extra stretching at the last minute — she uses a free method, too.

She also admitted to turning a hair dryer on her shoes while she wears them to help them mold better (Katy Perry pictured in her shoes in 2015)[/caption]

“I hair dryer my feet all the time,” she admitted.

“Put your foot in, hair dryer it, and have a walk around. Then the shoe’s gonna mold to your foot, basically.”

This can be a lifesaver for vinyl shoes, which she said “naturally constrict” in the cold and need to be warmed up.

The British designer is currently celebrating the tenth anniversary of her brand and the publication of her book, Oh My Gosh, I Love Your Shoes!
