People are only just realising that they’ve been peeling potatoes all wrong and their minds are blown
PEOPLE are only just realising that there’s a quick way to peel potatoes – without needing to use a peeler or a knife.
So if you can’t stand peeling and are looking for a ‘life saver’ hack, then we’ve got just what you need.
Food fans have just discovered a new way to peel potatoes – without using a peeler or a knife – and their minds are blown[/caption]A food fan named Laura was left totally mind blown when she found out about an easy peel potato hack.
Instead of using a peeler and running the risk of cutting your skin, this technique involves boiling the potatoes with the skin on and then later removing the skin once the potatoes are cool.
Posting on social media, Laura gave the trick a try.
She wrote: “I wish I learned this hack about 22 years ago but at least I won’t have to peel my potatoes moving forward!”
She then demonstrated the method and said: “If this actually works, I’m going to be so mad that I spent so much time peeling potatoes.
“So I’ve already cut those and now I’m gonna just cut this one, about a centimeter into the potato, all the way around.
“I’m placing the potatoes in boiling water for 20 minutes and then I’m going to see if the peel comes off as easily as they say.”
Then once the potatoes were cooked and cooled, Laura simply used her fingers to remove the skin, as she claimed: “Ok so I’ve cooled one off – let’s give this a try.
“That’s working.”
As she proudly showed off her peeled potato, she concluded: “Well now that we’ve all realised how much time we’ve wasted peeling potatoes in the past, I’m happy that we could all be on the same page moving forward.”
The TikTok clip, which was shared just two days ago under the username @momlifewithlaura, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly gone viral and has since amassed a staggering 1.5 million views.
However, social media users were divided at the hack – while many were impressed, others weren’t totally convinced.
One person said: “Could’ve used this last week.”
Another added: “I’ve never seen this before!!”
A third commented: “Came off so easily!! Wow.”
Whilst someone else wrote: “This hack is a life saver.”
However, not everyone was as impressed with the hack.
One foodie claimed: “That didn’t even look easier than just peeling it.”
A second chimed in: “I think peeling is faster than putting in the work of a lazy hack and burning your hands.”
Meanwhile, another food fan penned: “It tastes different.”
