UFC Heavyweight Champion Tom Aspinall smashed a score of 942 on a punch machine… before he called out Jon Jones.

The Brit, 30, became the interim title holder earlier this month when he knocked out Sergei Pavlovich in 69 seconds at UFC 295 in New York.

And he demonstrated that concussive punch power in the talkSPORT studio on Thursday.

Aspinall attempted to obliterate the punch machine and did so with a score of 942.

It eclipsed that posted by heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua in April 2022 when he recorded a score of 887.

And Aspinall then called out UFC legend Jon Jones as he targets the biggest fight in the division.

With a record of 27 wins and one defeat, Jones is widely regarded as the greatest heavyweight of all time.

Last time out, he made light work of Ciryl Gane as he submitted his opponent in the first round of their clash in Las Vegas back in March.

But Aspinall is still keen to get it on with the iconic Jones.

He said: “I, obviously, want to unify the belts.

“I want to be the undisputed champion, but also, I want the guy everyone is calling the greatest of all time [Jones].

“I want his name on my resume, and I want to be in the win column before he retires.”

Aspinall was then quizzed on whether he would be up for crossing over into boxing – much like ex-UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou did for his controversial loss to Tyson Fury in October.

But the Salford-born fighter insists he is fully focused on what he can achieve in the octagon.

He went on to add: “I’ve got loads of work to do in the UFC before I even start thinking about that.

“On the other hand, it is definitely something I want to do before I retire.

“Right now, I want to go and unify the division and beat all of the contenders before I even start thinking about that kind of stuff.”
