Novato power outage hits downtown area
A power outage cut off electricity to hundreds of meters in Novato on Thursday morning, according to Pacific Gas & Electric Co.
The outage happened at about 7:15 a.m. in the downtown area, the Vintage Oaks Shopping Center area and neighborhoods around South Novato Boulevard near Highway 101, PG&E reported. Novato police said the outage affected street lights and traffic flow downtown.
The utility’s preliminary estimate for service restoration was 5:45 p.m., but at least some power was restored at about 9 a.m. The cause of the outage is under investigation.
