A DUTCH translator who worked on Endgame insists the names of two royals at the centre of an alleged racism scandal WERE in the manuscript she was sent.

Author Omid Scobie insists he “never submitted a book” with the names of the duo after Dutch editions named the pair.

But translator Saskia Peeters says the manuscript she received had the names of the royals in “black and white”.

Speaking to MailOnline from her home in Arnhem, Holland, she said: “I did not add them.”

It comes as another of the translators, Nellie Keukelaar-van Rijsbergen, told The Sun it was “unfair” they were being blamed for the furore.

Speaking from her doorstep in the small town of Schijndel, Netherlands, Nellie said Omid has left her confused.

She added: “We are professionals and we’ve done this for years, both of us. It’s unfair.”

Dutch copies of Endgame were pulled shortly after going on sale.

Speaking to ITV’s This Morning, Scobie said he has never used the word “racist” to describe the royals who allegedly questioned Archie’s skin colour.

He said he described the incident as “unconscious bias” in the book.
