Trump expands attack on 'judge's wife and family' hours after gag order reinstated
Donald Trump targeted the "family" of fraud trial Judge Arthur Engoron on Thursday just hours after an appeals court reinstated a gag order against the former president.
Without an explanation, a New York appellate court put a gag order in place that prevents Trump from attacking court staff.
The limited order, however, does not cover the judge or his family. Trump has previously targeted the judge's wife, claiming she posted disparaging remarks about him on social media.
The Republican presidential candidate doubled down on those attacks on Thursday.
"This is the Judge's Wife and Family that are putting these things out," Trump claimed on his Truth Social platform. "I am not entitled to a Jury under this Statute. Can this be happening in America? This is the most unfair Trial in the History of New York, and I've had some pretty unfair Trials!"

Along with his post, Trump included a tweet he claimed was made by the judge's wife. The tweet included images of the former president in an orange prison jumpsuit.
It was unclear which other members of the judge's "family" Trump was referring to.
Dawn Engoron has said she has never had a Twitter or X account.
