Love Island’s Sammy Root gives update on relationship status after shock split from Jess Harding
LOVE Island’s Sammy Root has issued an update on his relationship status after splitting from Jess Harding.
Sammy, 22, was brutally dumped by Jess, 23, by phone, just three months after they were crowned this summer’s winners in July.
And it looks like he hasn’t found a new girlfriend just yet.
In an Instagram Q&A, the project manager was asked by a fan if he’s currently seeing anyone.
Sharing his response to his Story, Sammy jokingly reponded, “Jus myself in the mirror at gym.”
The influencer flashed a peace sign for the camera, while wearing a grey hoodie and black cap.
Previously speaking about his breakup from Jess, Sammy said: “To be totally clear – I at least wanted a face to face conversation to see if our relationship could be saved and felt this would be a respectful way forward.
“We had the most incredible experience winning Love Island and I genuinely saw a future with Jess. I was committed and respectful to our relationship. Unfortunately things don’t always work out the way you’d hoped.”
Jess later broke her silence saying: “I really don’t want to go into detail by doing a big statement but we’re just very different and behave differently and that’s it.”
Meanwhile, Sammy recently revealed how he’s got another dating show in his sights.
Speaking to Sam Thompson and Pete Wicks on their Staying Relevant podcast, he admitted that he wants to go on Celebs Go Dating.
He explained: “I really enjoy being on TV. Yeah, so maybe some more TV work.”
