MPs' “side chicks” threaten Ghana's family values more than LGBTQ — Gabby

Ghanaian private legal practitioner, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko has criticized lawmakers who voted to further criminalize same-sex relationships. He said Ghana lawmakers 39; extramarital affairs pose a greater threat to traditional family values in the country than the activities of gay individuals.

Tamale: ‘Our parents are tired of giving us chop money’ everyday – Jobless nurses, midwives march for jobs

The Graduate Unemployed Nurses and Midwives Association (GUNMA) has hit the streets of Tamale to protest their unemployment situation. The group is directing its frustration towards the government and its agencies, particularly the Ministry of Health (MoH) and Ministry of Finance (MoF), for their failure to provide financial clearance and permanent employment to over 75,000 graduate nurses and midwives trained at various accredited public universities and training colleges.

Unpaid arrears: Institutional Suppliers postpones picketing date to April 8

The National Association of Institutional Suppliers has rescheduled its picket over unpaid arrears from March 4 to April 8. This decision came after a request from the Ghana Police Service (GPS) to change the Association rsquo;s picketing date, which was originally scheduled for March 4th, 2024, to April.

Japan to help complete Volivo Bridge

The Japanese government has assured Ghana that arrangements are underway to secure funds to complete the Volivo bridge in the Volta Region. Furthermore, the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has agreed to provide additional funding to cover the increased costs incurred during the construction of the Assin Praso-Assin Foso road.

The Western Region Communication Bureau of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will organise a media soiree on Friday, 1st March 2024 at the Hillcrest Apartments Gardens in Takoradi. The soiree, the first for the year, is for the party to formally renew its relationship with the media community in the Western Region while striking a better, stronger and more beneficial working arrangement ahead of the election 2024.



We remain determined to fight anti-gay bill outside Parliament — CDD Ghana

The Ghana Center for Democratic Development (CDD Ghana) and the Human Rights Coalition say they will continue fighting the controversial LGBTQ bill that was passed by Parliament. While we find passage of this bill by Ghana 39;s Parliament regrettable, the action of Parliament does not come as a surprise, said a statement from CDD Ghana and the coalition.

Akomadan: Tipper truck rams into tricycle killing 7 including 3 children

Seven persons including three children have been confirmed dead as tipper truck ran over tricycle (Aboboyaa) at Akomadan on the Akomadan-Nkoranza feeder road. Some residents in the area in an interview with this Reporter disclosed that the tipper truck with GT-7494-B crash with the tricycle head-on killing four on the spot.

Akufo-Addo appoints John Kingsley Krugu as acting EPA Executive Director

The President of the Republic, H. E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appointed Mr. John Kingsley Krugu as Acting Executive Director of the Environmental Protection Agency (the Agency). The appointment is in a letter signed by Nana Bediatuo Asante, Secretary to the President.

The Mankessim Circuit Court has sentenced a 24-year-old herbalist to 30 years imprisonment for robbery at Asuokor, near Breman-Asikuma in the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District of the Central Region. The convict, John Awila also known as ldquo;Nana Kojo Agbeko rdquo;, also claimed to be a reporter with Onua TV and Passion TV.

Businessman in court for allegedly swindling pastor of $57,000

A 33-year-old businessman who collected $57,000 under the pretext of securing a Toyota Land Cruiser sport utility vehicle for a church but failed has appeared before the Achimota Circuit Court. Andrews Amoah Ampaw pleaded not guilty to the charge of defrauding by false pretences.
