Sad news about Big Charlie Birdsall
RIP
Can anyone remember the TV clip of referee Stan Wall giving Charlie a telling off.

What would you like to see/hear from a Rugby League Podcast. I am the co-host of the rugby league outsiders, we set up to promote to a new audience outside the heartlands however we do cover stories from within. We have a traditional podcast and a news show + a predictions round.

With Fusi, he could be man of steel in the second half of the season, and I don't think we should re-sign him.
The clubs in a tricky position in that they have a load of good young players, but they all seem maybe 2-3 seasons away from being regulars in the first team. I think we signed a player like Frawley, who is decent without being amazing, so that Sinfield would be able to overtake him by the time his deal is coming to an end.
We need to be smart as to whether we bring in a... Читать дальше...

Bit unfair on Pele - when he first came on, it was 6 minutes before we gave him the ball. We haven't brought him in to do 55 minutes, we have brought him in to be a wrecking ball and get us on the front foot - well give him the ball!! He struggled with the scoots from acting half, but not every side attacks the ruck as much as Leigh do - and they were playing at pace for the full 80 - so we need to control the PTB speed better
They'll give him chance to do something against Rovers........ which is a pretty impossible task.
Crowd will turn. Taxi for Smith.

If you compare Green and Max Wood currently, the latter looks at home as an SL player already, the former does not.
That could change - especially as he's a forward - but he's not there currently.

I don't know how hard the training is or if it is p iss easy. What I do know if the players are that ar sed about it how come as professional rugby players they give an aura of I couldn't give a s.hit when teams break the line or score a try. That's not down to the coach or training that's personal and professional pride . Our players seem to lack that
Only 40? Pfft

i'm not a ST holder, and wasnt expecting to be able to try and purchase until 5pm today
do we know if it is a genuine sell out at this point, or they put a holder on tickets because of all the issues everyones encountered?

Yeah fantastic result against a team who were in good form. Tried to kick us off the park but we’re getting better at dealing with those tactics. What a goal from Gnonto!! Belter. Stone wall pen not given, ref had a perfect view. Not only was it a foul he also handballed it. Shocking.
I see we play last in both Easter games compared to the teams around us … ridiculous again from Sky.

I'd send Carlos, Okunbor and Pele to Doncaster for a week to send a message out to the rest of the team that below par performances won't be tolerated...the likelihood is they'll all be playing (if not injured/banned) next week v Hudds though after making their amends in training throughout the week (but then forgetting all theyve learnt on game day)
Which of our 7 overseas players would you be disappointed if they left tomorrow.
I'd say only Ese Ese.
Think that says how poorly we use our overseas quota.
Think Hoy and Brown are both good players, but Hoy never seems to get a chance to get going, put him in the Leigh, you would see a different player, Brown needs to play at 9, he isn't a 7, could maybe be a 6, but needs to playing with someone better than Smith.

For me he has played himself into the starting 17. He has always been a grafter and with that he looks quicker and fitter than last season. Actually reminds me a lot of Kia in the way that he does way more work and has more effect in defence and attack than is obvious unless you are looking for it.
Second half he was outstanding with his work rate.

Watched bits of Dan Okoro on highlights of the Bulls v Wakey game. Seems a good prospect but lots to work on and nowhere near first grade yet would say. Could well be worth signing but not going to ease our prop rotation problems soon.

The shirts did look good. Hopefully Buck and Dusty will be equipped with sponsored shirts (also with their names on too) as they currently look rather plain.

Good solid start for Wire and signs of green shoots of recovery. We are not title contenders but looking at the league I am confident we should make a play off place.

I think the ‘quietness’ might be something to do with the nervousness of stepping up a division.
We’ve had too many false dawns and disappointments over the years to get carried away with things.
It’s been a bloody good start though!

They got a bit choosy into the first half, I came back from the toilet and a steward tried ushering me to the lower tier of the North stand, it was only after I pointed out my mates that he let me back in. The stewards didn’t seem to be counting people in so not quite sure how it’s gonna work? After saying that, Fridays game is gonna be our biggest attendance this season so we’ll see
