Gretchen Whitmer sought “common ground” with the Republican-led Legislature in her State of the State address Wednesday evening, pitching a multibillion-dollar pandemic relief plan that would prioritize coronavirus vaccinations and additional aid to schools and businesses amid the crisis.

Donald R. Wenz, a fifth-generation farmer in what is now southwest Toledo, who with his late brother, Glenn, transformed the family truck farm into a greenhouse business that supplied plants and flowers to retailers, died Friday at home. He was 86.

Toledo man charged in 2 coffee-tossing robberies
