0

Representatives of the Russian Ministry of Education and with their South African counterparts have started working on the preparation of a bilateral agreement on cooperation in the field of education. An important part of it will be to form a network of open Russian language education and training centres, said the ministry.

It is planned that the centres will be opened on the basis of public schools in Pretoria and Bloemfontein, as well as on the basis of Empire Partner Foundation, which brings together graduates of Russian and Soviet universities living in South Africa, as reported by Russkiy Mir.

In addition, specialists from Perm State Humanitarian Pedagogical University and the Russian Biotechnological University discussed the opening of centres during a meeting with the management of Tshwane University of Technology, located in Pretoria.

A delegation from the Russian Ministry of Education met with Archpriest Daniil Lugov, rector of the Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh in Johannesburg, as part of their trip to South Africa. This is the only parish of the Russian Orthodox Church south of the Sahara. At the Church Education Centre and Sunday School in South Africa, it is possible to learn about Russian culture and Orthodox traditions.

Open Russian language education and training centres will be opened in more than fifty countries around the world.
