Honestly, the pearl clutching over this is a bit OTT.
The WCC will be played under international rules, contact with the head is still illegal, and the NRL have have been cracking down on head contact for years now, so it likely won't make any difference to game anyway.

As for the cards and bans, how many of them wouldn't have resulted in a ban or a card last season?

Agree on the NRL stance on head height tackles. However, it has also said... Читать дальше...

NRL rumoured to be buying SL, be worth it just to have them running our game.

I'd be interested to see what the NRL think they would get out of that arrangement as I can't think of any obvious benefits for them. Unless it would open up the possibility of selling TV rights to Channel 9 or Fox over there to generate additional revenue.

Hull FC • Clifford dismisses our training methods.

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Has Jake really hit the nail on the head, regarding our preparation for the new season, are the days of pulling tractor tyres up Brantingham hills a thing of the past, we seem to cop so many injuries consistently over and over.

I questioned our fitness in the friendly matches, and overall our first game we seemed gassed latterly, of course we suffered some disruption in the Derby, but if one of own players says our training doesn’t compare what can we do.

Do we still use the chryrochambers... Читать дальше...

Good, i'd rather he goes on loan rather than just getting rid of him. Like a few have mentioned, injuries play a part so i'd rather still have him available than not at all.
As i've said before, he's not a world beater but he's a decent option to have, same as Matty russell.

When we have the ball Dudson lingers deep 2 or 3 out from the dummy half position so he looks involved but never in any danger of making a carry. He also likes be be 2nd or 3rd man in defending to boost his tackle stats.

In his pre-season interviews, Dudson was saying how last year was a bad one for him because of off-field issues, but he was looking forward to a much better year in 2024. Round One was not a great start for him though, and we simply can't afford to keep carrying him. Читать дальше...

The number of ticket requests on social media and forums is significant. I do wonder how many we could have sold had capacity at the DW not been an issue - 30k? 35k?

Wouldn't surprise me if we see ticket touts outside the ground.

Can't wait!!!

Leeds Rhinos • Re: RD 2 | Hull KR (A)

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Given the props missing I don't think any amount of jiggery pokery wins us this game in the pack. If we are to win it's the new spine that will have to make the difference. We've been the most stupid team in SL for several seasons now and tonight might give us a decent indication as to whether that has changed. If we stay in the game we can edge it, if we drop a series of clangers early on and get behind on the scoreboard it could be a long night.

It'll be interesting to see how tonight's game goes. Weather is awful but Leeds will be far more structured and organised than we were so i think it will give more of an accurate view of where Rovers are on their path to world dominance.

RIP Bill. One of the most underrated players I have ever watched and such a great guy.

His wife was a teacher at John Fisher, he was always happy to talk to young supporters, We played a game before his testimonial match and went around central park during that game doing a bucket collection.

If the deadwood of the playing group can’t put a decent shift in against this very depleted Hull team.. then surely Burgess would have pull the trigger on them and give some of younger players a run out

I think it would be a solid signing, did well in his few games here and is still young enough to improve (which he should do in the Panthers environment), think he will stay though as he will the main backup next year when Luai leaves.

I would look at a few Rovers players though, Corey Hall would be a good signing, Burgess or Senior and I would take Parcell for a year.

As for JWH, it's a 200k plus gamble, one that we can't afford to take, but maybe Rovers can... Читать дальше...

Looks like Jack Cole is getting the nod to replace Luai in the WCC don't know much about him but it seems Brad Schneider is pushed down to 4th choice half, would he be a realistic target for next season? I thought he would've stayed at Rovers and had a decent impact on their season last year (apart from missing touch in the CC final )

Don't know if he wanted to go back to Aus but he may be an option, still young but may want an NRL clause which I hope we would stay away from but beggars can't be choosers. Читать дальше...

Doesn't matter mate, he played his junior rugby down under, the same as Walmsley, so counts on the cap in SL. It's all about where they grew up and played their junior Rugby.
