The governor of the Kaliningrad region, Anton Alikhanov, answered the Polish general, who described a possible scenario of military action by Russia and NATO over Kaliningrad. The head of the region said this to “KP”, the publication reports in its Telegram channel.
Alikhanov considers the statement of the Pole to be a “retirement complex” due to history.
“It is difficult to accuse us of aggressive behavior towards these countries, because we do not want anything bad for our neighbors,” the governor said. He recalled that Poland was helped to rebuild Soviet troops, thanks to which this country was revived again, even within wider borders than before World War II.
“Stop strategizing who will invade where and which tanks will drive on which paving stones. We need to deal with other issues. We have excellent cross-border cooperation programs with Poland. And the Poles are talking about tanks again. This is an apology for war and a desire to quickly find himself in the Stone Age, with a stick in his hands. And prepare for the “fourth world”, “Alikhanov suggested, saying that one should not be distracted by the complexes and narratives of thinking of individual Polish generals, especially in retirement.
Earlier on March 7, it was reported that the former commander of the Polish land forces, General Waldemar Skshipchak, indicated that in the event of an armed conflict in the region, the forces of the Baltic Fleet and the troops of the Kaliningrad defense region will play a key role. According to him, Russian troops will need from two to four days to capture the Baltic states.
